Celebrating sporting success with berries
Last week the team at Soloberry awarded blueberries to winners at showjumping event, Jumping Hulsterlo in Kieldrecht on the Belgian/Netherlands border.
As part of Soloberry’s growing brand presence in Europe, this event marked an opportunity to share with the Belgian public the Soloberry brand, and to allow participants and spectators the opportunity to try our blueberries that are currently being supplied into our customers across Europe.
Jumping Hulsterlo was held on 11, 12, 13 and 14 July 2019 and is now in its nineteenth edition. Jumping Hulsterlo has become a fixture in the equestrian Show Jumping event calendar in Belgium and the event welcomes more than 2,500 horses. The highlight this year is the Seniors Belgian Cup by the Belgian National Equestrian Federation. National riders compete in the event with jumps set at more than 1.5 meters for a coveted trophy and corresponding prize.
Winning riders were presented alongside their rosette and trophy, with a Soloberry branded box of blueberries with an infographic on why blueberries are good for our health. Alongside sponsorship of the event, we were keen to share with showjumpers the benefits for health that berries provide; in particular blueberries – sharing our message of #berriesforhealth.
Blueberries are a low fat, snackable product that’s great for you thanks to its anthocyanins, flavonoids and multiple health boosts over other foods. The perfect post event snack to boost energy levels and blueberries are great for the brain and eyes to help keep focused in such a competitive event.
The first class of this year’s event, held on Thursday 11th July with a large and competitive field of over 100 horses, was won by Danny Van Es with his horse Zico, here they are being presented with their blueberries by Marketing Manager, Joanne Mumford of Soloberry.
