Soloberry collaborate with nutritional chef to raise the profile of berries for health

 

After announcing their own brands, Soloberry Farms and Berry Basics at Fruit Logistica, Head of Brand, Rachel Montague-Ebbs also revealed that they are working with expert nutritionist and chef, Dale Pinnock – The Medicinal Chef.

In an interview with Fred Searle from Fruitnet at the ADHB stand, Rachel talked about understanding the true nutritional benefits behind eating berries and how working with The Medicinal Chef, Dale Pinnock will help to unlock some of this knowledge so that it can be shared with consumers across the globe.

Dale Pinnock will be joining Soloberry and the Fruitnet team in Rotterdam next month at Global Berry Congress with a keynote speech on marketing the health benefits of berries. 

“Berries really are one of the most powerful weapons in the arsenal against cardiovascular disease. Their high flavonoid content has amazing influences upon our circulatory system. They can cause our blood vessels to dilate, keeping blood pressure low. Dale is very keen to talk about the benefits of berries and how best to incorporate them into our diet.  He will be working with us on eight exclusive berry recipes that we will be using throughout the course of the year as we celebrate “From Plant to Plate” in our latest marketing campaign covering the journey of berries from our breeding partners and sister company Newstairs, to the plate of the consumer.  “Flavonoids are generally colour pigments in the deep red through to blue and purple end of the spectrum. So, for maximal hit, go for the deepest darkest berries you can find.” Dale Pinnock.

As The Medicinal Chef, Dale combines evidence based nutrition with the art of cooking and has written 14 books on the subject of Nutrition and Health, as well as appearing on dozens of different TV shows in Britain and around the world, and co-presenting his own hit prime time series.

Dale has a passion to provide real, down to Earth, practical advice for people who want to make a change towards a healthier lifestyle and this ties in perfectly to Soloberry’s thinking and our corporate mantra to “make the world a healthier place, berry by berry”.  Education is key to boosting the sales of berries and bringing them into all meal times.
